5. Road noise did not prove a problem at all, the room seeemed surprisingly quiet but then I do live in London so am used to a bit of background noise and anyway we had the aircon on most nights which more than drowned out any other noise.

6. We never turned on the TV so cannot comment on that and like other reviewers the alarm was left on though it wouldn't have been a problem for me to disable it and anyway it went off when I needed to get up.

9. When this was mentioned to the lady who checked us out on Thursday the 14th (a different lady to the one who had checked us in), she could not have been more indifferent about it, or more insincere in her 'concern' about the problem.
"Avoid room 401 like the plague " Read full review on TripAdvisor   11/15/2008 Vote
10. These things really should be looked at when the room is cleared for future guests - pretty standard really??* Our room in particular, 401, was right next to the fitness room, supplies closet and elevator (I'm assuming rooms 301, 201 etc also have similar problems other than the fitness room) - considering the walls are paper thin in this hotel, we could hear every door slamming and every footstep within range.
