2. The theme parks have a lot to offer at night too,visit Citywalk ( Bubba Gump and Hard rock cafe both offer great food in a fantastic holiday atmosphere ) and when arriving back at the Doubletree sit in the courtyard by the fountain with an ice cold beer.

Over our complete stay in Orlando we ate at The Kitchen at the Hard rock Hotel twice (less than a mile and they validate parking and very good food for adults & kids), Mama Della's at the Portofino Hotel (less than a mile and they validate parking, excellent food & atmosphere) and NASCAR Grille (at City Walk - good food)The hotel had a great price - I think it was $116 - and is a good choice if going to Universal and not wanting to pay the high prices as the Universal resorts.

10. Despite what they tell you at the hotel, and despite the other reviews, Universal is only a fifteen minute walk past the Hard rock Hotel into CityWalk and is a much better option than waiting for a bus or paying for a taxi.
