2. the ambassador refunded one night of our stay, making the total bill around $400 for one unpleasant night of pest-infested slumber on sheets that made toilet paper look like a serious alternative to bedding & beds that made camping on gravel seem appealing.

3. I did have a rather unpleasant experience when I checked out of the hotel - in packing, I accidentally left several items in the closet of my room (a nice pair of slacks, a raincoat and a running jacket).
