It is a few blocks, but if our kids could handle it, it is an option for those who don't mind walking and pulling suitcases behind in order to

a high fare for such a short distance to the port.

Less than 10 minutes' walk to Canal St and the start of the French Quarter - conveniently close, but far enough away to

As for those concerned about crime, stay within well lit and crowded areas and

the odd alley in the French Quarter and you should be safe.

Its an extra 32/day for Valet but well worth it to
avoid
the hassle of looking for parking in the busy sidewalks around this nice neighborhood so close to downtown and the French Quarter.
