4. I have always thought Marriott hotels lacked personality and creativity - found that to be true here in Charlotte also but in fairness, I've only stayed at downtown Marriott hotels that are primarily for the business traveler.

I am a very frequent business traveller at Platinum level with both Marriott and Starwood, but have been frequently disappointed this year at both brands wih the lack of upgrades - is everyone Platinum these days? But this Marriott really stood out among the pack of business oriented super brands.
