1. The only minor issue with the room, was that with such a large room, there was only a queen bed.

4. The XV has an issue with the shower values and it is very difficult to regulate the water temp, had the same problem a few years ago when we stayed here.

5. I may seem petty with my issues but when you are paying nearly $500 p/n I feel the hotel should anticipate my needs.

6. All in all, despite the small issues above, I would definitely return to the XV Beacon when in Boston again.

7. However, some of old furniture seems to have endured in the rooms and is starting to show signs of wear, though, in the scheme of things, this was not an issue at all.

8. Also, the fireplace is tied into the heating system so it shuts off when the room gets too warm and we had issues trying to find a balance trying to keep the room cool enough to be able to enjoy.

9. Maybe old thick walls and ceilings? No street noise either (our room faced an office block on the 6 th floor, so maybe that was never going to be an issue).

10. The conceirge team was very helpful in preplanning for us and in fact identified an issue with the reservation that I'd made through Amex.
