Despite a couple of noisy stays during the renovation works a few years ago, it remains my favorite hotel in San Francisco -- a good balance of location near Union Square, well designed rooms (a Portman designed hotel with atrium lobby) and lobby, and away from the 'dead' financial district on weekends and the less attractive convention centre area.
