1. We were in the agricultural area of Illinois for a family reunion (at Starved rock Resort) - and stopped in Chicago for a stay on both ends of the trip, and it also happend to be my birthday, I love the 'tude of these guys at the Monaco ( SFO, Seattle, Salt Lake have been previous visits) - you can ask for a goldfish in your room to keep you company - and it magically appears in a crystal clear bowl with aquarium stones that match the accent colors of the room.

We left to see the sights around 12PM each day and they still came to our room each day, Another couple travelling with us did not get their room cleaned because they did not use the door sign,One of the friends I travelled with works for a very popular hotel chain and agrees that this place rocks.

5. Stayed recently for the first time after many stays in the Hyatt, Marriott, Hard rock and Renaissance near the river.
