1. There are limited choices in Hilo for those who want to avoid a faceless, anonymous hotel -- this is the perfect alternative.

2. PS my only disclaimer is that if you cannot abide the sound of hundreds of teeny frogs all night long it might be best to avoid Hilo all together.

3. Our room (a 'superior studio') had everything we needed during our five-night stay, including a kitchenette that enabled us to avoid blowing the budget on dinners every night (though we couldn't resist going to the Hilo Bay Cafe a couple of times - great place.
