1. The mountains are not prominent from the resort, the beach is too soft to walk at that location, not used for sunbathing, and posted as having currents too dangerous for swimming.

2. Although it is truly only 10 feet from the sand, you are not aware until you see the posted sign that you cannot in fact swim in the ocean there because it's dangerous and it's a drive to either town or other beaches.

3. Also, be aware that this beach is completely unsafe for swimming, so please check ahead for all areas in Kauai, as the riptides can be dangerous.

4. It was too dangerous for us to go swimming off this beach (possibly only because it's wintertime), but we found good swimming and snorkeling a short drive away.
