1. Service and conditions are great, but the very high price for a small, cramped room with no view whatsoever is too much.
"Not worth it " Read full review on Expedia   11/12/2008 Vote
2. I agree that for this price every aspect of the stay should be near flawless - and it wasn`t quite.
"Very nice stay " Read full review on TripAdvisor   12/2/2007 Vote
3. Then I noticed I was charged for the upgrade the hotel had given me, so they were charging me $549 per night for the room, $200 over the price I'd booked for.

4. It wasn't a big issue and don't hold it against housekeeping (who did an otherwise excellent job) -I was just a little puzzled about it This hotel is a bit on the expensive side but is well worth the price and staying here was an absolutely marvelous experience and one of the highlights of my trip to the United States.
"Amazing hotel -once in a lifetime experience " Read full review on TripAdvisor   8/10/2011 Vote
5. There is a price to living in front of a building that is both loved and loathed by so many good and bad people.
"Federal Government Vibe and Musty " Read full review on TripAdvisor   6/9/2010 Vote
6. Due to the number of kooks out there, you can expect the price of this proximity to the WH to be wafer thin doors (in case somebody needs to get in your suite in a hurry) .

7. After all we think it is a hotel who is profiled to the politics , this is the only reason for his price , no one pay the check the politic do it, so it isnt important how much cost evrything.
"need update urgent " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/25/2010 Vote
8. Prices were perhaps too high to justify, but my expectations (as they always are at hotel restaurants) were low and they exceeded them.
"Poor value in a nice location " Read full review on TripAdvisor   5/20/2009 Vote
9. Positives: EXCELLENT Italian toiletries, staff willing to try to make things right, great location across the street from the White HouseNegatives: Far too many people who are not hotel guests filling the lobby, extremely high prices, inconsistent service (from example, the valet) I laughed when I found out Obama stayed at this hotel prior to moving in to the White House.
"Poor value in a nice location " Read full review on TripAdvisor   5/20/2009 Vote
10. He actually showed us a few available rooms in a price range higher than what we paid, although none of them overlooked the White House.
