2. The tvs are old, the decor isn't something you'll want to buy, the bathroom could use an upgrade but it was close enough to the beach that I didn't have to drive down and find parking.

3. If I were in Santa Barbara for a couple's trip I would probably want to stay somewhere else but if you are there for the city and beach and not your room it is very accommodating.

Across the way is a park (bonus), a block or so to the beach (bonus), few minutes to drive to State Street, bathroom was small but clean, no broken tiles, no dirt, etc. Cons: thin walls (but I kept the fan on - no issues), TV is old school, bed cover thin but I anticipated that and brought my own blanket & pillow.
