Figured at the very least they could
refund
the fee they added to the nightly rate, but not the case.

i was very disappointed with three things: they weren't willing to negotiate a
refund
when i learned i had to leave a day early, they weren't able to give me a non-smoking room and they gave me a handicapped room.
