I would also like to recommend a very nice coffee shop about a block and a half away (if you're at the hotel, head toward the plaza with the Sears that will soon be a K-Mart - the coffee shop is in a professional/residential building on the corner, across the
street
).

The hotel is perfectly in the the middle of sea world, zoo etc. and downtown as well as to shopping malls; however that requires having a car - btw parking on the
street
is for free, so you dont need to park it on the hotel lot.

8 miles from Sea World, 13 miles to Coronado Island, trolley to downtown, shopping mall across the
street
, and the best part is the very friendly, smiling, & courteous staff, from smooth check-in to no hassle check-out.

Parking was $14 per day but we just parked along the
street
of the hotel for free with not much further to walk than from areas of the paid parking.

Lots of shopping, restaurants, coffee shops, costco is just down the
street
and has a gas station if you have a car.

No in-room refrigerator, which is a shame as you are right across the
street
from a Super K.

There is
street
