3. The rooms are small and dark, the bathrooms are clean (but no different than what you'd find at a Holiday Inn) and the hallways are outdoors (to make sure you soak up plenty of Portland's rain), but the aesthetic is fabulous.

5. A couple of trendy design magazines, bamboo sprig in the bathroom, and condom on the nightstand don't make up for noisy old air conditioner, cheap lighting, and smelly bedding on a broken-down mattress.

8. I think in some ways they went a little too light on the remodel (the bathroom needed some help) and in some places they made poor decisions (an all-white theme only works if you`re prepared to touch-up paint every few days so it doesn`t look scuzzy).
