They also educated us on use of the streetcars (NEVER call them trolleys) - a day pass lets you ride any RTA streetcar or bus for the measly price of $3, and you can get anyplace in the city that way (you will need to walk in the French Quarter - or rent one of the little bubbly looking two seat cars).
