1. It's got the sort of character-plus-comfort I want when visiting NOLA, and the combination of quiet, comfortable rooms with good wifi, a cool lobby bar, helpful staff, and walking distance to more or less everything downtown, makes it a lock for my next trip.

Rooms were clean, housekeeping was friendly, concierge helped print out boarding passes, free internet wifi or access to a computer in the lobby; the best was that we could crank up the AC to help us cool down in the August humidity and they had lemon/lime ice water in the lobby which we would fill up on before heading out on the town.

8. Free wireless internet, and they are happy to help you figure out where to eat, where to shop, etc, etc. 30$ valet parking a night for a car, which was not a shock in this area.
