We had no problem finding a parking spot on the
street
behind the hotel (free), as I was feeling to cheap to pay for valet.

One nice thing about the LAX area is that there's free
street
parking on W 98th St and surrounding areas (I'm not aware of many other airports which have free parking so close to the airport itself).

-Krispy Kreme doughnut kiosk located inside the Crowne Plaza (about a 10 minute walk down the
street
-an awesome sushi kiosk located in the Crowne Plaza-some of the freshest sushi i've had and i've had a lot--it's a lone guy that prepares the sushi to order -he is only there from 5/6-10pm M-F or something along those lines.

The only thing I would not suggest is eating there since you can walk towards the back of hotel across the
street
and get more affordable eats there.

If you don't desire hotel food, we saw a subway restaurant on the same

@ 100 meters from the hotel.

However, be sure to read signs to know what the restrictions are for a particular part of the
street
(some are 2 hr, some are enforced 8am-6pm while others 8am-midnight, some areas do not allow overnight parking, etc).
