1. After being shocked at the price of hotels in the Manhattan Beach area, I was thrilled to find a good deal for The Belamar Hotel.

2. Overall I would recommend The Belamar to others, especially if you can get a good deal, as well as a Tranquility room (which has a balcony -- the Skyline does not).

3. I only paid 79 bucks using Hotwire, but not sure if it was worth it--without the stench, it would have been a fine deal.

4. Also, there is a small amount of construction noise to deal with, especially if your room faces south ('skyview').
