4. Service in the restaurant was not much better but, fortunately, they did not charge extra for the flies hovering over the fresh fruit bar and around my table.

5. As a comparison, when we stayed at the Hilton Americas (also downtown), the bar was still open when we returned from the theatre for a nightcap - here it closes at 10 p.m..

6. Another shocker was that there are only 2 country bars in Houston and the one that we tried was not a real country bar.

7. Again, there were supposed to be bars all up and down the street but instead there were banks, furniture stores, drycleaners etc. with the odd bar scattered here and there.

8. It has an adjoining bar/breakfast area with a Starbucks adjoining.

9. Many restaurants are closed at 3 p.m., even McDonald`s was closed by 7 p.m. The tunnel is closed around 6 p.m. No bar, besides the hotel bar, anywhere is sight.
