1. Even though I stayed there on a Priceline rate, the check-in clerk very nicely accommodated my request for a high-floor king-bed room away from the elevator, and consequently I ended up on one of two of the hotel's Starwood Preferred Guest floors -- which unfortunately appear, here at least, to offer no additional perks such as free newspapers or breakfast or a private lounge area.

10. It is such an upscale property, I would not normally think of it as a family hotel but there were many families staying there last weekend, probably because of their great room rates.
