1. As with most of Boston, it is probably hopeless to try to park for free overnight, but there is 2-hour free parking nearby, *past* the hotel, after you go under the bridge, near a park.

We were able to park for free in a small 'lot' right behind the hotel--we were told by the staff that we were parking at our own risk and were warned of a recent break-in back there but it`s an extremely well-lit area, visible from the hotel rooms and we had no problems leaving our car there for the 5 days we were there.

3. The only significant disadvantage is the very expensive parking at the hotel and without Massachusettes plates it's virtually impossible to park on the street without being ticketed.
