It suited us fine for what we wanted but for this price we have stayed in rooms with a far more luxurious feel in
downtown
Washington for example though admittedly without breakfast thrown in.

Valet parking is pricey at $32 per day, but that should be expected in the
downtown
business district of a big East Coast city.

Also be careful that you walk 2 blocks towards the Inner Harbor and not 2 blocks toward
downtown
as you will see a very nasty area of strip clubs etc..

The Hampton is a great value -- reasonable price (w breakfast) and short walk, maybe 2 blocks, to the Inner Harbor shops, restaurants, historic sites, and
downtown
area.

Our room was a little small, but that is to be expected in any
downtown
hotel.
