5. My husband and I live in Allandale (the immediate surrounding neighborhood) and they had stayed there when it was the Summerfield Suites and liked it.

6. Allandale is pretty much the only neighborhood-located central north Austin hotel, but just a short jaunt (about 1 mile) north there is a rather nice Holiday Inn (though admittedly akward to get to), and another mile north of that a Hampton Inn that they have stayed at in the past and loved.
