1. There are many good restaurants nearby and the gondola/buses are a short walk.

2. After getting a bite to eat at the local McDonald's across the street, I explored the town a bit, locating the ski clinic meeting place for the next day, etc. Aspen seems to have many high end shops and fine restaurants, but it was nice to grab a burger in a hurry, too.

The best part was the really excellent buffet breakfast included in the price that had super oatmeal in a big slow cooker, eggs and some tasty ham and egg pastry rolls as well as all the normal cereals, cold meats etc. The location of the hotel is perfect as it is completely central to the shops and restaurants and only a couple of blocks from the ski lift, which is fantastic to use in summer as the views are fabulous.
