1. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, great hot breakfast, free parking, Balcony in standard room, clean pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room.

Then, there are the minuses: parking under in the garage with a big car or truck is very scarey, lumpy king size bed with old sheets, no coffee pot in the room or robes for the hot tub, very old building that hasn't been re-modeled in 50 years, curtain didn't close so a pin was needed, bus noise quite a bit of the night outside of the window, must walk outside to breakfast or hot tub or to the elevator.

The hotel is older and rustic, some might even call it a little tired, and some of the rooms and bathrooms could stand to be updated, but its perfect location, cleanliness, and the free parking, exceptional breakfast and cookies and lemonaide in the afternoons make it a great choice for your stay in Aspen.

5. I was given a special rate of $80 per night for a decent size room with a queen bed, great views of the mountain (slightly blocked by the hotel behind it) and free underground parking and complimentary breakfast.
