1. Polk Street is where many locals hang out and it is the best spot to go bar hopping or go to a nice restaurant if you want to escape the tourisy stuff for a bit.

5. My friend and I went to during Spring Break and on our last night in San Fran, we went to a nice restaurant then bar hopping afterward.

Pros:- convenient to several MUNI (bus) lines- within walking distance (less than a mile) from Japantown- cafes, restaurants, and bars abound- lots of thrift stores in the area (if you're a thrift store shopper)- room has a sink- closet is pretty big (but I'm from NYC and anything bigger than a coffee table book is spacious to me)- refrigerator in the room- six-drawer dresser and desk- Walgreens is on the corner- Turtle Tower Vietnamese restaurant is about six blocks away.
