1. The room was comfortable (albeit a little bit small), the breakfast was plentiful (although my husband would have preferred something hot :-)), the bed was comfortable.

7. How can you beat a queen room with private bath (gorgeous new tile) and expanded continental breakfast, in a nice, safe part of the city, for $99 a night.

While the accomodations were minmialist to the point of being spartan, the room was clean and comfortable enough, the coffee in the complimentary continental breakfast was excellent, and the staff at the front desk was warm, engaging, well-informed (in regards to the neighborhood, public transit, et cetera) and very friendly.
