1. The location is very good in that respect, but it's a couple of streets up from what is apparently one of the dodgiest in San Fran (Market and Fifth), and there are a lot of very strange people around Market and Seventh.

4. A word of caution, we only found out that although located in a generally safe area, there are certain streets leading to the 7th Street which you might want to be stay clear off as there are (to our surprise) many homeless people lurking around.

However, here are some aspects I did not care for:Room 201:1) cheap design felt like I was staying in a child's room2) the lights & fan on a timer/sensor that didn't work3) all the piled-up pigeon crap outside the windows4) floor was uneven and lumpy5) bed was 6' from door6) no individual heating/air conditioner7) the location is a perfect place to see some of the worst that SF has to offer.
