1. While the location, room and amenities were all good to great at the Handlery, my check in experience left a dark cloud over the rest of my stay that never dissipated.

3. Upon check in we were given a complimentary upgrade to the new part of the hotel overlooking the pool area with a nice balcony and there was a bottle of champagne waiting for us when we entered the room, it was such a lovely touch seeing as nowhere else on our trip had acknowledged that it was our honeymoon.

5. I almost gave the Handlery 4 stars - the check-in staff and concierge were pleasant; I had a good online booking experience [including email follow-up]; there were some reasonable facilities (fitness room and pool); and our rooms were clean and kept well.

7. The check in was fast and efficient; I asked for an inside corridor room (I needed quiet from the street noise since my partner was flying back from Hong Kong and needed to rest) which the reception desk courteously accommodated and even upgraded the room.

8. The valets were helpful with directions ( I'm from Southern California and this is a crazy city to drive in ) Front Desk at check in was quick and efficient and the Concierge was helpful in directing us to the Muni to go to the Giants game & all right next to Leftys.
