Wonderful fireplace/

We went for the 'cozy queen' room and yes it was on the small side but perfectly adequate for our needs, lovely decor and great
shower
.

But the gas fireplace in my room worked great, the
shower
was one of the best I've had in my life, and this was nothing like the typical cookie-cutter hotel room that's so boring.

For a small extra (which was refunded later - for reasons I'll mention shortly) we were offered a room on the ground floor (#16), which had much more light but was frozen (the fireplace couldn't do the trick), and noisy - the sound of people walking over our heads on the wooden floors or the
shower
s they took have woken us every day at 5AM.

There were some downsides however - the
shower
was a little basic, the television had one channel and perhaps worst of all was the fact that the reception desk was almost always unattended which meant we had to go to the White Swan down the road to ask questions etc. Also, there were no internet facilities - something which I feel is a fairly basic requirement nowadays.

The
shower
was so tight that turning around could cause your elbow to turn the water faucet handles and change the setting.

We had an unexpected extra
shower
in the bathroom courtesy of a leak from the room above.
