1. Recommended parking at State Garage is two blocks away on Leavenworth at $20/night with no in-out privileges.

We found those were as promised, but we found so much more: a charming, spacious room including working fireplace; a tasty and generous hot breakfast + wine reception every day; parking included in our very reasonable nightly price; most pleasant personnel - from the floor maid to the woman in charge of breakfasts to the people manning the front desk; easy walk to Union Square, dozens of restaurants and the famed Cable Car.

6. Oh and there is a $32 a night charge for valet parking and in a scarily busy part of SF we couldnt take the risk finding somewhere to leave the car so had to pay over $100 with taxes for 3 nights parking.

10. Parking is a dilema anywhere in SF but our car was immediately unloaded by a bellman and taken to a secure offsite lot (with in and out privelages)and our luggage was immediately taken to our room.
