1. WE only attended on of the dinner time wine tastings, and we arrived a little late so there was only red wine, left, and weren't hungry, but there was very reasonable appearing food options even for this event.

The staff were very friendly and helpful particularly when my sister had tripped while on a visit to see the Redwood trees and when she hobbled into the room there was a knock on the door and the reception staff appeared with band aids, scissors, tape etc.They serve drinks every afternoon in the parlour and it is a chance to meet other guests and exchange tips for sightseeing etc. We ended up going out to dinner with some of the other guests and had a great night out.

9. We loved it so much that for some of our dinners, we just 'ate in,' sitting in front of the fireplace in our room in the very comfy chairs, soaking up the warmth and reflecting on our day out and about in the city.
