If you want to be on Union Square, but you don't need the frills of a big hotel (pool, big
lobby
, restaurant), then this is a great choice.

But it also didn't splash out on things that I didn't need or want, like acres of
lobby
space, and that strike me as driving up, to no purpose, the cost of a hotel stay.

In regards to the common areas, the
lobby
area is small but the only reason you go through the
lobby
is to come & go, speak with the staff or wait for a taxi/shuttle.

Overall - I would highly, highly recommend this hotel, as long as you've done your research and aren't expecting something this hotel can't offer (like extra room in the
lobby
and sweeping views of the city).
"Absolutely charming, lived up to our expectations. "

Big things come in little packages -- the
lobby
was not much bigger than a broom closet so the character and comfort of the rooms; the pleasantness of the staff were a wonderful surprise and all at a great rate for the location.
"All hotels should be like this one "
