3. There is also Whole Foods shop on union sq which we can thoroughly recommend for breakfasts as it has breakfast salad bars and seating on first floor with views over union sq.

5. Hotel 17 reminds me a lot like a bed and breakfast hotel in that you do share your bathroom with maybe 3 other rooms.

6. We found a great diner nearby (Joe Junior's) that became our regular breakfast place, a laundry that delivered, a bar on the corner (mumbles) that did great scallops in the restaurant, and were only a few blocks from Union Square's shopping, restaurants and subway.

7. From a recommendation off of another Hotel 17 reviewer, we headed to Sunburst which was a great deal for the huge breakfast we had.

8. About a 7 minute walk from Union Square 14th street station, which is great, close to 3rd avenue and they recommended a place nearby for breakfast, I think it was called Stardust cafe or something.
