1. You can walk to shopping, the art museum, Pike Place Market, monorail stop, and the waterfront -- or hop a convenient (and free) bus around the central downtown area.

It is very easy to use these to get around the downtown area, but I found that everything is actually a very easy walk from the hotel, including Pike Place Market, the Underground tour and Pioneer Square, the waterfront area, and it is smack in the middle of one of the greatest shopping districts.
