1. My only issue was the recommendation given for breakfast across the street (at Eggbert's).

3. It is across from the Coconut Marketplace, which has some shops and food stands which are quite convenient for a quick bite or purchase of sunscreen, etc. I would recommend Eggbert's in the marketplace for breakfast when you don't eat in (get the banana macadamia pancakes) and cheap afternoon mai tai's and bloody mary's.

4. Otherwise we recommend Scotty's Beachside BBQ in Kapa'a, Tip Top Cafe for Banana Macadamia Nut Pancakes for breakfast in Lihue, and Ono Family Restaurant's Shave Ice/Ice Cream Shack for a treat (love the Macadamia Nut Ice Cream) in Kapa'a.

5. There is a path along the beach that you can use to walk or run for a good distance (dirt trail in some sections)Off Site Dining-Great breakfast at Kountry Kitchen and super friendly host.

6. Next door is a kind of run down mall, but it comes in handy for a convienence store and Eggbert's is good for breakfast.

7. Pool bar serves small lunch choices, but we chose to go to the Coconut Market Place right next door (short walking distance) that had several small places to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus shopping .

Pros:- convenient location for touring Kauai- the best restaurant on Kauai island is right inside the hotel: Hukilai Lanai - I really recommend it, we went twice and it was delicious- nice, cozy rooms, large bathrooms- nice large deck where you can eat breakfast and feed birds from your hand- quiet at night, great for relaxing- hot tub overlooking the beautiful ocean- nice ambiance at night by the pool, (torches etc)- good pool side bar ($)- free parking- free wireless.
