1. Also impressive was the hot breakfast buffet, complimentary with my stay (not sure it always is - maybe because I'm a Hilton Honors frequent traveler).

2. Things you normally don't experience with this family of hotels, but unfortunately happened to us: 1) Room smelled stale and musty upon arrival, even wondering if previous guests had smoked in the room, 2) TV did not work, 3) Stains (looked like red wine maybe) were on carpet, 4) Makeup stains were on duvet cover, 5) Sheets were 'torn' (looked like rips from machine wear and tear), 6) toilet handle was cracked, 6) bathroom seemed smaller than other Hiltons, 7) no TV line up card or guide for channels, 8) no TV tray/laptop desk in room, 9) no personal greeting upon checkin, 10) out of complimentary newspaper first day, 11) no initial offer of complimentary bottled water upon arrival.

3. He offered a free room upgrade (did not want though, too much trouble to move), allowed a room discount for each night, provided complimentary breakfasts for both days, located the mysterious newspaper they were 'out' of upon arrival and offered more complimentary beverages.

4. He was courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and provided many complimentary gifts for our troubles (sodas, bottled water, restaurant discount coupons, candy, mints) AND he fixed the TV.
