When complained about that, we have been told by the
Manager
(kind and helpful person) that they had no spare keys and as we leaving the room did not leave the keys at the front desk, they couldn't get in the room to make it.

Later the
manager
of the hotel phoned the room (whilst I was online trying to arrange other accommodation for us all) apologised and halfed the price of the room (I should think so), only after asking if the needle could belong to a member of my party (ie my new husband and extremely distressed motherinlaw) and saying he would have to take my word for that.
