1. Their billing system confuses gratuities with service charges.

2. He then explained that we would have to leave the hotel unless we paid the bill in total before 23:00hrs(which was before our checkout date).

Unknown to us they however later charged the whole amount onto the card along with everything else that we had spent during our stay (therefore taking our card over limit)Two days into our visit and the day before checkout we received a call from the Duty Manager expressing his concern regarding the outstanding amount (he did not seem overly concerned) and we explained to him that the bill would certainly be settled on checkout.

4. We agreed to cover the first night straight away with the card and settle the bill on checkout with cash which they were happy with.

7. However, staff were helpful, room was a standard Holiday Inn product, there were no hidden extras on the bill, our bags were retained by the concierge on the day we checked out and returned to us at a very busy time of the day with no fuss.

9. The bill does have a spot for 'tip', and if you aren't paying attention, can tip twice.
