1. The lodge was a bit more of a trek than we realized - we were only there for 4 nights so we didn't go back except for the one dinner, but if you were there for longer it would be a nice change.

2. The concierge desk at Manale was VERY helpful with everything from tee times, dinner reservations (recommended for specific times), snorkeling adventures, etc. They were always smiling and offering suggestions for things to do.

6. The only outstanding meals we had were away from the hotel: An amazing night at the Lodge, where we savored each bite of the Chef's tasting menu with accompanying wines in the Dining Room (impeccable service), and a fabulous dinner at the Lanai City Grill.

10. We did have lunch and dinner there, but I'd recommend staying at the resort - it's not much cheaper in town, and the food certainly isn't better.
