1. Maybe I am critical because I normally priceline my hotels and get a great deal, and this time I paid full price because I wanted to choose the location and make sure we had enough room to accommodate the whole family.

When we finally got into the room, we discovered that Housekeeping had not attended-to the room -- in other words, housekeeping lilkely tried their key much earlier in the day, discovered they were unable to enter, and chose to ignore the problem (so that we could come home late in the evening to deal with this).
