The locale of the hotel is excellent - right across the
street
from the International Market (runs between Kalakaua Avenue and Kuhio Avenue), literally a 10 minute walk from the beaches of Waikiki.

The rooms were clean, everyone was friendly, and you can't really beat the location (right across the
street
from a huge outdoor shopping area, near to food, and to the beach).

TIP: If you want to park 6 blocks away, the Banyan Hotel straight down heading south on Kuhio & Ohua
street
has a huge multi level parking garage with security that charges only $10.00 per 24 hours.

There was no balcony, but I spent the day at the beach, & the benefit of an inside room is that there is no
street
noise.
