I know that big city hotels

' They should at least let you know up front on their website that there is a
charge
for that access.

I do find it aggravating to pay for WIFI - although it's probably consistent with area hotels, I've stayed at enough places recently that didn't
charge
, though, that now when it happens I'm surprised.

They
charge
for the internet, but I signed up for their 'gold passport' rewards program, so I got the internet for free and also got a free late-checkout.

Nowadays there are so many nice hotels that offer free internet and free breakfast so it's kind of disappointing when you spend a lot to stay at a nice hotel and then you have to pay for those extras on top of the room
charge
.
