2. Fantastic views from our eighth floor bay windows - so much so we decided to forego dinner in a restaurant on our last night - grab some good food from nearby Ralph's and have dinner in our room to enjoy the San Diego skyline.

9. After 2 weeks in motels, this was the height of luxury!a 'mini-suite' (a large L shaped room with a sitting area and a mini-kitchen, beautifully furnished, and with a nice town view, for 109$ a night (including tax, excluding parking).

10. The breakfast terrace on the roof, which allows smoking in the open part, was a wonderful bonus, great views over the whole of downtown while enjoying a breakfast in the sun or in the shade, your choice.
