1. While the room seemed clean, it was in disrepair, with the door knob on the bathroom door broken and the ceiling flaking away.

4. I was able to look at two rooms since I had some friends staying down the hall, the ventilation in their closet/bathroom area was horrible (felt like a sauna, and the shower wasn't even on!), they didn't have a phone in the room and the bathroom door didn't lock.

5. The cockroaches are behind the beds, the bathrooms are full of mold, and the cleaning staff rarely comes by so you have to go get your own towels.

6. The toilet in the bathroom had a very stiff lid which made opening and closing it a hassle, and it had a flushing mechanism that would spew out a gush of air even when the lid was closed (this grossed me out for obvious reasons).

9. Thinking to save money for an apartment, I spent one horrible night in the International Hostel-- noisy people coming in and out at 2 and 3 in the morning, bathroom with no heat in below freezing temperatures, yada yada.
