6. Our room was almost right in the centre of the hotel - which meant that we were over the top of the entrance to the pool - the balconies are great but they aren't very private or quiet - indeed when there are people in the pool, especially kids playing, it can be very noisy.

8. Apparently the fates clearly knew how nervous I was, because this wonderful staff opened the doors to an ocean front room, where my 2nd floor balcony was just high enough off the pool that I felt like I could touch the Pacific Ocean.

9. As a youngster growing up at kennel on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu I'd gaze over the wall at the ocean; as a guest at PTH (from Santa Fe, New Mexico) I gaze from the balcony, inhale deeply, and feel young again.
