1. There was a lot of noise coming in through the windows, and with emergency vehicles going by all through the night you definitively need earplugs.

5. The room we stayed in, 204, was not draft proof or sound proof, every single noise could be heard and sometimes the windows vibrated, I understand it is a city and there will be noise but for the windows to shake and rattle.

6. there was a constant dripping noise which i am unsure and whenever somebody had a shower it felt like the building was to collapse.

7. The only downside to the Dakota would have been the noise on the street below - but a few sirens every now and then weren't even enough to detract from what was generally a very good hotel.

8. I cant remember problems of any significant street noise, however staying *anywhere* downtown will put you around tons of firetrucks blaring their sirens round the clock.

10. Our room overlooked Post St, and the fire truck noise took a bit of getting used to in the middle of the night, but it just added to the experience.
