1. It's still a lovely place -- it cuts right into the cactus-filled mountains and you really feel like you are in a special relaxing zone.

3. Although I didn't have time to enjoy all the resort's activities, there are more than enough to keep someone busy and happy - golf, tennis, lovely pools, the short hike to the Ventana waterfall, kids camp, fitness classes, spa and more.

6. It is unusual for us to return to the same hotel twice but we loved our first visit to the Loews and were lucky enough to go back for a week recently.

7. We had a fourth floor room with a lovely balcony view overlooking the sequoia-covered foothills.

9. My kids loved the pool, they also have a hot tub and a cold tub; the challenge of the week was getting all the way into the cold tub.

10. The room was big enough for all four of us, we had a small balcony/patio to use, and I have to say the bathtub was enormous; huge SQUARE bathtub; kids loved it.
