2. If you get an older room, just imagine your grandma has put you up in a sunshiney space with happy-flower wallpaper, eat the cookies in your coffee basket, and be happy you have clean sheets, a working fridge, and hot water for a steamy shower in this lovely place.

3. I wish the prices were a bit lower, but it is Santa Barbara, and we know that our money spent will get us a solid happy-hotel-experience.

6. I'm glad we didn't as we checked into our room and the staff had placed a happy Anniversary sign on the wall and had a cold bottle of champagne on the desk to help us celebrate.

9. After a few nights in motels I was happy to be staying in such a nice resort type hotel = large well equipped room, terrace overlooking one of two swimming pools = beautiful well kept gardens = great service from the front desk.
